How does our Salt Clinic work?

During a treatment we simulate a microclimate like in a natural salt cave. A saline dispensing unit, which is classified by the European Council as a medical device Class 1 (lowest risk category) will release negatively ionized dry aerosol micro particles of salt into the room.

We monitor temperature, humidity and salt concentration in the air. The surfaces of the treatments rooms are covered with natural salt which attract water molecules - that helps to maintain a stable hypoallergenic, hypobacterial environment throughout the whole session. A modern air exchange system ensures that after each treatment the air is completely extracted and replenished.

While the patient breathes normally he inhales those micro particles which can enter the upper airways and the lung. The salt has anti-inflammatory and anti-bacterial properties. This helps to reduce the inflammation and bacteria growth, breaks and shifts mucus so that the patient can cough it up and get it out of his system. The airways get cleared and cleansed. With every session this process can happen on a deeper level to reduce the symptoms.

You as a patient have nothing more to do than switch off your mobile, put on shoe covers and a hairnet (which will be provided by us), sit back in one of our comfortable chairs, relax into the tranquillity of the room and BREATHE!

We have two treatment rooms in our Salt Clinic in Omeath  - one for parents with children and one for adults. Young children must be accompanied by a parent who will have free access to the treatment room, additional children will only be charged half price - so, if you have 2 children who you feel would benefit from salt therapy in our Salt Clinic, the first child is full price, the second child is half price and one parent can accompany the children for free.
